Live at Regent Theater (2015)

Kamasi Washington + many more: 2hr 1min 39sec set

Where to even begin…. I first caught wind of Kamasi after hearing that he provided the saxophone for Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp A Butterfly” album. So one day I decided to do some homework and I came across this video. My God, if you watch you will see how much energy is put in by each and every member on this glorious stage. Major props to the trumpet, respectively. His saxophone style is unique in the fact that he is not afraid to hit an offbeat note – something about that adds to the allure of his music. Unconventional is an understatement here, but I truly would never pass up the opportunity to see this man live. From the moment he tells about the guy in his dream, you could tell something was special about him. Do watch, and feel that magic
